| There are several systems in the world now which do "instant messaging", live conversation with other people using text messages, and transmission of files and sometimes live voice interaction. There is the AOL Instant Messenger, the Yahoo! Messenger, another from Microsoft, the very first called ICQ, and others. There is software out there which will let you use several of these systems simultaneously; Trillian is probably the best. | |
