Worry

Are you sick of all of the voices urging you to be worried?

Or do you even know what I am talking about?

How about those who say "if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem?"

Or how about the nagging voices telling of "heroes" of 2 or 20 or 50 or 200 years ago, and how important it is to make sure they did not live in vain?

Or how about the urgings to be paranoid for the survival of your favorite things?

Or how about those that talk about nations far away or close by, and how important it is that you give your resources to help others kill people to keep them from being destroyed?

Perhaps you are one of these voices. Perhaps you want me and everyone else around you to be worried about these things which you are oh so worried about, fighting the battles you love so much, in battlefield or courtroom or legislature, or all three. Perhaps you will hate me now, because I suggest that all of your battles are vain and foolish and doomed to failure in the end. Or perhaps you are curious enough to want a better way.

There is a better way. And it is very good indeed. You do not need to worry about anything in this world. All you need to be concerned with is the will of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you obey the Lord Jesus Christ, if you become part of Him by being baptized into Him and seek and obey all the others of His commandments, He will cause all of the vain worries above to vanish from your soul, bit by bit. He will cause food and shelter and sufficient comfort to come to you, by whichever means He chooses, until He takes you out of this world; and He will make you aware of it, and not worry. He will cause you to not be worried about the destiny of others, because He will give you knowledge of the total awareness and power and will of God to see that all end results are good.

But you have to desire the Good. If you don't want it, you can go on worrying; you can worry as much as you want. I hope you will realize how much it is hurting you.
