A Declaration of Dependence |
In the course of human events, it becomes necessary for all people to dissolve the chains which bind them to things of this world, and thus become released to the joyful submission of a different bond, to God our Father.
And God, our Father, hath given truths of His submission, and as we submit to His truths, He releases us more and more from the bondage of our first birth. The first birth yields truths which are self-evident; the second birth is the worthwhile and the eternal, and such truths are evident, only as He makes them so to us:
All men and women are born, and not directly created of God; and all men and women are born of seed stained and corrupted of sin. We can not better ourselves. Betterment only occurs, by acts of God upon us.
All men and women have only that which God permits them, and are denied by God, all which they do not have. Men and women suffer, thrive, live, starve, bleed, and die, with God watching, aware, causing, and responding, according to His own desires and no others.
All men and women are being blown, by the Divine Wind which is the Holy Spirit of God, towards God. God gives all men and women as much freedom, and as much lack thereof, as He will.
In pursuit of these truths, let certain Facts be submitted to those to whom He has given, to hear:
All attempts by men and women to better themselves, are not lasting. Men and women are sometimes able to make a tiny proportion of the world’s people more comfortable -- but never, better; never more loving, never more caring for each other, over time. Always, when the next generations come, there is return to the evil of the past. And yet, God chooses to draw us to Him.
Man and woman has always refused assent to Law of God. And yet, He talks to us, He listens to us, He heals us and takes us if we are willing; and He has always done this to many human beings, since the very beginning.
We, therefore, humble recipients of the blowing of the wind of God, do willingly lay down any claim to life apart from His will; or liberty apart from His will; or pursuit of happiness apart from His will, recognizing that His Will is immensely larger, better, richer, and utterly more, than any life, liberty, or happiness we could possibly imagine. We therefore surrender unto our Father in Heaven, our lives and our fortunes, and we abandon all former honor, in seeking and being of the mercy and the grace of God.
