Correction:
It is not the soldier,
and not the reporter,
Who gives some
freedom of the press.
It is not the soldier,
and not the poet,
Who gives some
freedom of speech.
It is not the soldier,
and not the campus organizer,
Who gives some
freedom to demonstrate.
It is not the soldier who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who stays the hands
of both lawyer and soldier
who desire evil,
to the ones who know
that a flag is not sacred,
and to the ones who know
and that all who live by the sword
will die by the sword...
and that Righteousness does not serve
any thing of this world.
It is only God,
by Whose gracious gifts,
that we have whatever freedoms,
and all else,
that we have.
It is only God,
by Whose righteous judgement,
we are denied whatever freedoms,
and all else,
that we do not have.
God, I pray You,
please give
us all this knowledge in power.
